While we await the promised update, here's what you need to know about the first game: Now, the game is back under the publishing umbrella of Deep Silver, with Deep Silver Dambuster Studios taking the development charge. With few updates here and there, news - as mentioned before - has been scarce, though a listing for the title did appear for a short time on the Microsoft store just before E3 2018. After a split with its previous developer and Deep Silver, production was moved to Sumo Digital in 2016. Still, perhaps it will be a cross-gen title, we honestly have no idea at this point since everyone involved had been mum about progress.įollowing Dead Island 2's reveal in 2014, the sequel fell victim to a wide variety of road bumps that affected work on the title.

The final exchange from the studio concluded with, "We're not quite ready to talk about the latest Dead Island just yet, but when we do, you'll see it here!"Īfter several changed hands, the zombie title is still shooting for an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC date - which is a little odd given that next-gen is officially here. are they're pretty the same as EA? who knows dude. The original naysayer responded in disbelief, asking Deep Silver not to give them false hope. Thanks for the info, i didn't know Deep Silver are been a little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So Deep Silver told Yager that all the work they had done was not up to their expectations and put the project on hold.Īlot of the hard work put in by Yager was canned by Deep Silver not because it was bad development but because it wasnt a profitable direction for the IP. You seriously are dense and have no idea whats going on, Yager has been working on DI2 for about 3 years now, and what happened was DL put all the work they did into the garbage, DI2 was basically going to be a clone of the first with nothing new other than story or character elements, obviously that would not sell well with dying light being the superior game.

so apparently Yager are being lazy as ♥♥♥♥. Deep Silver want to make sure if Dead Island 2 has any Glitch, Bugs, and Crashes. Yea, well the reason why they still hasn't release after they done making the game. I haven't been following any of the news so I really couldn't say, but it just seems likea silly thing to cancel now. They seem to have quite a bit of it done already, and to cancel it with all the hype would just be stupid. STAЯЯYSOCK a écrit :I highly doubt they'd cancel Dead Island 2. So, we dont have to worry about Dead Island 2 anymore :) Well, theres a lot of good game is coming Out and its going to really big in 2016, especially DOOM.

Im going to figure Dead Island 2 is going to be a really bad game than Dying Light and yea, thats what I heard., I know Dead Island Series is pretty much like Borderlands type. "Dead Island with more of the same stuff" doesn't sound like something I'd want to play at the moment, especially not with The Following right around the corner. With all the cool stuff DL introduced to the first-person zombie survival game, DI seems like a thing of the past and will have to make significant advancements in terms of gameplay to make itself a notable game. I'm not sure if I'm all that interested in DI2 anymore. Hoping that one turns out pretty well because what I've seen so far looks pretty cool. Yager is now working on a capital ship multiplayer combat game called Dreadnought. A guy from Yager said they had conflicting ideas about the development of DI2, and as such they parted ways. As far as I've heard, Deep Silver has not given an official statement as to why, nor have they named a new developer to take over development.
